After the holidays, I always wonder what to do with my dried-out tree. Instead of just tossing it on the curb, I found that my town's eco-friendly tree disposal program turns it into mulch for community gardens. They chip the wood and compost the needles, keeping it out of the landfill and giving back to the soil. It's a simple way to feel a bit greener about the season.
